“Take The Opportunity”

“Take The Opportunity”

A Srimad Bhagavatam Class I recently gave in Sridham Pandharpur. Srimad Bhagavatam 11.2.30 describes how King Nimi was so eager to hear spiritual knowledge from the nine Yogendras, that he did not even bother asking them about their welfare. He immediately began to question them about the goal of human life. We learn from his example that we should not waste time, and rather, when we have the opportunity to hear from saintly persons, immediately put forth our queries as to how to make our lives successful. We should, as my dear friend Paramatma Prabhu says, “Take the opportunity”.

Outreach Program in Khed Bharavani Village

Today, on the auspicious occasion of Rukmini Dwadasi, I  traveled with a team of devotees from ISKCON Pandharpur to Khed Bharavani Village.  It was the 4th Departure Anniversary of Bala Saheb’s father.  We had kirtan, discourse on Bhagavad Gita chapter 2, text 13, and prasadam.  I was happy to meet all the villagers and family members.

Nitya Anadhan Seva on Prabhupada Ghat

On May 3, Aksaya Tritiya, in Sridham Pandharpur, we had a grand inauguration of Nitya Anadhan Seva.  Nitya Annadhan Seva means we will daily distribute full plates of sumptuous and healthy prasadam.  The program included a lecture on the glories of prasadam distribution, kirtan, a fire yajna, and of course, prasadam!  The MLA of Pandharpur came and lit the gas stove.  There were many news articles from the event.

Sita Devi’s Tolerance

Sita Devi’s Tolerance

“Sita! Why don’t you surrender!?” demanded the evil Ravana. Despite the torture and temptations imposed on her, Sita never gave up her loyalty and chastity to Lord Rama.

Although tempted to give up our ethics and integrity, we should strive to be steady in our principles.
